Google Analytics
The site uses Google Analytics 4 to count visits and see which pages are read. When it runs, it sets first-party cookies (their names begin with _ga) and sends Google the page address, the referring page, your browser and device type, an approximate location derived from your IP address, and events such as scrolling, clicks on links that leave the site, site searches and file downloads. Google signals is turned off, data sharing with Google for other purposes is turned off, and the advertising settings are declared as denied, so the data is not used for ad personalization. Analytics data is kept for 14 months.
Whether it runs depends on where you are visiting from:
- European Economic Area, United Kingdom and Switzerland (including several territories with the same data-protection rules, and any visit whose location cannot be determined): Google Analytics is not loaded at all until you choose to accept it. Nothing is sent and no cookie is set before that. If you decline, it is never loaded.
- Everywhere else: Google Analytics loads when the page opens.
Wherever you are, the link in the footer of every page reopens the choice. Declining there stops Google Analytics from loading in this browser from then on; if it was already running, the page reloads without it. Accepting turns it on. Clearing this site's stored data in your browser resets the choice.

Cloudflare Web Analytics
The site is served through Cloudflare, which adds its Web Analytics script to every page. It runs in every region and is not controlled by the consent choice above. It sets no cookies and uses no browser storage, and Cloudflare states that it does not fingerprint visitors. It reports page views and how quickly pages load, and it sends that data back to this site's own address. Like any web host, Cloudflare also handles each request's IP address to deliver pages and to block abusive traffic. A content blocker that blocks static.cloudflareinsights.com stops the analytics script.
What is stored in your browser
- Your analytics choice: if you accept or decline Google Analytics, the answer (granted or denied) is stored in this browser's local storage under the key
privacy-choice-ce01, so the question is not asked again. - Light or dark mode: if you use the light and dark switch, that choice is also stored in this browser.
Nothing else is written to your browser by this site.
Site search
The search box filters a list of this site's pages inside your browser. What you type is not sent anywhere.
Fonts and outside services
The fonts are served from this site. No font service, social media button, video player or comment system from another company is loaded.
Regional blocking
Visits from mainland China and Russia are blocked at Cloudflare's network, so pages are not served to visitors there.
Advertising
There are no ads on this site. If advertising is added later, this page will be updated first to name the provider and explain its cookies and how to opt out.
If you write to contact@feedbackandforgetting.com, your address and message are used only to deal with what you wrote about. They are not added to any mailing list or passed on.
